Beer fans drink to their hearts' content at the annual Düsseldorf - Benrath Bierbörse. The city's pedestrianised zone is transformed into a huge beer garden, attracting around 100,000 visitors every year.

Major breweries offer hundreds of beers for sale, alongside smaller international brewers who give out samples to visitors. Numerous beers from five continents are available: German and international, bitter and sweet, light and dark, and there's plenty for the serious beer buff to collect, from glasses and clothing to beer mats and bottles.

Get there early as there's scarcely room to breathe later on in the evening!
